    ‘Move your body! We can all feel stuck and lethargic at times. Often it is simply because we have got into a physical rut. Moving your body means going for a walk, swim or cycle ride. It means dancing or play fighting. It means stretching your body in ways that feel good and blowing out the cobwebs. Choose an activity that appeals to you, suits your personal needs and remember to pace yourself if you are feeling out of shape.’

  • Freya’s Inspirational Ideas

    Posted on July 31st, 2010 Freya No comments

    Below is a list of ‘inspirations for the day’ which have previously been posted on this website. Inspirations are ideas that are designed to help you feel good. When you feel good you raise your energy vibration and manifest more beneficial experiences in life. So, if you are in need of a ‘pick me up’ or a new ‘feel good’ inspirational idea, read through the list below and choose the idea that appeals the most. Have fun!

    Build a bridge. When you read this, what pops into your mind? Do you need to work towards reaching a goal that requires commitment and patience? Or is there some relationship that needs you to put in some extra effort to heal the situation or help things move on? Either way, a bridge is symbolic of ‘crossing over’ something to get to the other side. Take whatever steps you need in order to make this a possibility.

    Try something you have never done before. We all have our routines and habits so it can be refreshing to try something new. It doesn’t have to be a big thing – try a new food, genre of book or social activity. If you are feeling particularly daring, you could try something you are a little scared of doing like going out for a meal by yourself, roller skating or public speaking. The idea is to feel exhilarated by expanding your horizons.

    Let go of a power struggle. We all get into them – someone wants to dominate us, or perhaps we want to stay in control of things ourselves. Trust the Universe to resolve the issue for the Highest Good of all. If it is ‘meant to be’ then everything will work itself out. In the mean time raise your energy vibration by giving positive attention to what is already working in your life.

    Ground yourself on the Earth. Many people feel they want to escape rather than seeking to connect with the miraculous abundance of this wonderful planet. Do some gardening, go for a walk, or hug a tree and remember to give thanks to the Goddess!

    Smile! It may sound a bit too easy, but smiling is one of the most effective ways to feel good. Smile at strangers and people you know. Smile to yourself and to the sky when you are out and about. Smile at yourself in the mirror. Remember that life is precious and meant to be enjoyed. When you are smiling you’ll find it hard not to enjoy yourself!

    Do something today that you have been meaning to do for ages. If you have several things on your ‘to do list’ and can’t decide which to do, write them on little pieces of paper and fold them up then pick one out at random. If you have time – why not do as much as you now? A great way to get stuff off your mind and feel a sense of personal satisfaction!

    * * *

    Explore your local area by foot or bicycle. We are often good at taking trips to ‘get away’ but many people don’t really get to know their local area very well. There may be some untapped treasures just waiting for you to discover…

    Go and find a moving body of water such as the sea, a river, stream or waterfall. Allow the energy of the water to soothe and revitalise you. You can take a walk along the water edge or sit and enjoy the flow. Ask the water to take away any worries or concerns that you have.

    * * *

    Try trusting today. Trust that you will be able to to take care of yourself, no matter what. Trust that your question will be answered, support will be given or a solution will reveal itself. Give yourself permission to let go of fearful control and trust that it will all work out.

    * * *

    Write a list of all the blessings in your life. Even when things are challenging or you are feeling low – there is always something to feel gratitude for. What are your blessings? Once you have started your list, keep adding to it every day. You can then refer to it whenever you want to feel uplifted or need a reminder of how much good there is in your life.

    Clear out a cupboard, draw or wardrobe. We all collect stuff over a period of time, some of which is useful and some of which we could easily live without. Keeping stuff we don’t use clutters up our space and lowers our energy vibration. So, don’t wait for spring to clear that cupboard out, set aside 30 minutes and get on with it!

    * * *

    Contact an old friend to catch up or arrange a visit. Is there someone you haven’t talked to for ages or you only ever get around to sending a Christmas card to? Why not take the time to give them a call or send them a ‘snail mail’ letter? People always love to hear from old friends and it feels wonderful to surprise someone you care about.

    * * *

    Before you go to bed write a list of all the good things that happened to you today. Keeping a ‘gratitude diary’ is a really good way to lift your spirits and focus on the positives in your life. Getting into the practice of noticing what makes you feel good will help you manifest more of what you want.

    * * *

    Try changing one small habit today. Rather than trying to simply halt a behaviour, replace it with something new. For example, if you want to get fit, start by using the stairs rather than the lift or escalators. If you want to loose weight exchange your morning pastry for a piece of fruit. By making one small change at a time you can gradually build a new healthier set of habits!

    Tell a friend, relative or lover what you appreciate about them. Letting people we care about know that we appreciate them really increases the ‘feel good’ factor in your relationships. If you want to get really loved up, write a list of all the important people in your life. Look at each one in turn and write down 1-5 things you really appreciate about them. Then share your appreciation with everyone on your list and watch the love grow!
